Esther
Hi, my name is Esther. I provide a safe and supportive space for you to explore your emotions and life experiences. Together, we can work on any difficulties you are facing in a collaborative way.
Counselling can enable you to understand yourself better, leading to a healthier relationship with yourself and others in your life.
I am an integrative counsellor who puts the person centred approach at the core of each therapy session. The person centred approach means that you are in control of what you want to explore and how deeply you choose to do this. The most important thing is that you feel safe and can develop trust in the counselling relationship.
I use various other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Transactional Analysis Therapy (explores relationships and communication) and a Trauma Informed approach. Each session is tailored to your specific needs.
Over time, I have worked at various organisations as a counsellor. This includes 16 years at RASA (Rape and Sexual Abuse Centre) in various roles, counselling survivors, completing client assessments, and supporting counselling placement students. I have worked with various charities, setting up specific counselling strands and working therapeutically with university students, business employees and parents.
The issues I have worked with over time are anxiety and depression, trauma, addictions, sexual abuse/assault, suicidal thoughts/feelings, relationships, divorce, self-harm, transgender issues/journeys, parenting issues, domestic abuse, loss and bereavement and life-limiting conditions/illness.
I work with adults and young people (14 years plus) and am a fully qualified, registered counsellor and psychotherapist. I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and adhere to their ethical framework for safe practice. I attend courses regularly as part of my continuous professional development.
I offer face to face sessions at Liverpool and Wirral venues. I also offer video (Teams or Zoom) and telephone counselling sessions, depending on your preference.
